Job Details:

* 21-week contract to cover holidays
* Shift times available at 7:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM, or 7:00 PM for traditional travelers
* Every other weekend rotation required
* Holiday coverage as needed per unit
* Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a Level 3 or higher emergency department required (traditional travelers: 2+ years in Level 3 or higher)
* Patient ratio of 1:4-5, up to 1:5-6 with low acuity patients for traditional travelers
* No floating required (traditional travelers may rarely float to freestanding ER or elsewhere as a helping hand)
* Patient types include psych, trauma, general medical, sepsis, cardiac, stroke, abdominal pain, and chest pain
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, MOAB/CPI, TNCC (traditional travelers may substitute PALS or ENPC, TNCC or ATCN)
* EPIC EMR experience required
* Skills required include RSI, conscious sedation, lines/drains/tubes, and general ER skills
* Equipment utilized includes Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing
* Telemetry monitoring available at bedside and centralized
* Support staff includes CNA/ER techs, receptionist/HUC, charge nurse (does not take patients), phlebotomy, resource nurse, RT (24/7), hospitalist (24/7), and physicians and mid-level providers
* Scrub color: any professional/solid color
* Free parking available

Facility:

This facility is a 388-bed hospital operating as a Level 3 Trauma Center with a Level 3 NICU. The emergency department consists of 24 beds, including 8 behavioral health rooms within a locked unit. The unit is known for amazing teamwork and is supported by a robust team including charge nurses, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and various support staff available around the clock. The facility utilizes a 1:1 model for CAP and maintains a collaborative, patient-focused environment.
