Job Details:
* Variable start times of 7:00 AM or 9:00 AM
* May be required to cover one night shift within the contract as needed
* On-call is required and will be distributed equally amongst all nursing staff every 6 weeks, which could be up to 6-8 shifts in a 6-week period (including nights, evenings, and weekends - 8 hours each)
* Float required between like units within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals nearby
* Weekend shifts required per the needs of the unit
* Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
* Minimum 3 years of experience required
* Travel experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Trauma, neuro, vascular, and ortho experience required
* Experience with OR RN responsibilities including trauma, ortho, general, vascular, neuro, plastics, and ENT required
* Trauma Level I experience required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Valid California license in hand required (no pending licenses accepted)
* Required certification: BLS
* Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
* Daily census of approximately 25 cases
* Night shifts are typically staffed with 2 people (1 RN/1 ST or 2 RNs, with one acting as scrub)
* No unit secretary on night shift
* RTO must be included at time of submission
* Block schedule available per manager discretion
* 40 orientation hours provided
* Required skills include but are not limited to: craniotomy, spinal fusion, total joint replacement, trauma, vascular procedures, robotic surgery, and a wide range of orthopedic, neurological, and general surgical procedures
Facility:
This acute care hospital operates with 277 total staffed beds and provides a comprehensive range of surgical services. The facility supports a high-volume operating room environment with interdisciplinary services including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial support. The OR program covers a broad spectrum of specialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular, robotics, general surgery, urology, and gynecology, utilizing advanced technology including the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and Epic charting. Free parking is available for staff.
