Open Position: RN - PCU Stepdown

Opportunity:

RN - Step Down / Med Surg

Job Details:

* Work on a combined step-down and med-surg unit with 23 step-down beds and 16 med-surg beds
* Patient ratios of 1:3-4 for step-down and 1:4-6 for med-surg
* Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, and 4 PCTs; night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, and 4 PCTs
* Perform trach care, chest tube management, and wound dressing changes
* Work with equipment including lifts, chest tubes, cardiac drips, stable vented patients, and trachs
* Float to other med-surg and progressive care units as needed
* 6 Saturday or Sunday shifts required per 6-week period
* Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
* Experience working with trachs required
* Previous experience with Cerner EMR preferred
* Strong flexibility and high level of clinical competence preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
* Dress code: Navy blue scrubs

The unit is equipped to handle complex patient needs including cardiac drips, stable vented patients, and trach care, supported by a well-staffed team of charge nurses, registered nurses, and patient care technicians. The facility utilizes Cerner as its electronic medical records system and maintains high standards of clinical care across its medical-surgical and progressive care units.
