Opportunity:

RN - CICU

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts with a 36-hour per week schedule
* Alternating weekend schedule required
* Patient ratio of 2:1 or 1:1, occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity
* Unit staffing consists of RNs only with no HUC or PCT support
* Wear all navy or navy and white scrubs; no pullovers or hoodies, no green scrubs except when uniform is soiled at work
* Work with equipment including ventilators, telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, IABP, CRRT, Impella, and hypothermia equipment
* Document using Cerner electronic health record system
* Float to all areas of the facility as needed
* ICU experience required
* Required skills include titration of vesicant medications, familiarity with pressors, sedation, and paralytics, experience with vents and trachs, telemetry interpretation, understanding of hemodynamics, PA catheter setup and interpretation
* Perform or assist with procedures including cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertions, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis
* Desirable advanced skills include IABP, Impella, and CRRT experience
* No certifications required; CCRN, IABP, Impella, and CRRT certifications appreciated
* 16-bed unit located in the J Building

The CICU is a 16-bed unit equipped with advanced technology and modern equipment to support high-acuity cardiac patients. The facility maintains high standards of patient care and provides a dynamic environment for experienced critical care nurses to utilize and expand their clinical expertise.
