Opportunity:
Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C) - Pulmonary Clinic
Job Details:
* 5x8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
* No weekends or on-call required
* No floating between units - same location every day
* Minimum 6 months of experience required; 1 year of experience in an adult outpatient or pulmonary clinic setting preferred
* EPIC charting experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, CMA
* Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) required - Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) will not be accepted
* Perform vital signs including height/weight, pulse oximetry, and obtaining vital signs
* Record patient history, medications, and allergies
* Set up and assist with nebulizer treatments
* Administer immunizations and intramuscular injections
* Collect and label specimens including sputum
* Perform laboratory tests including strep testing
* Complete office duties including authorization forms, chart preparation, pharmacy calls, patient refill requests, and stocking supplies
* Administer medication and TB tests, complete follow-up phone calls, and room patients
* Perform special procedures including 6-minute walk testing, spirometry, and FeNO testing
* Patients served are adults only
* Approximately 20 patient visits per day across 3 rooms
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services and interpretation services
* Scrub color/attire to be determined

This pulmonary clinic is a specialized outpatient facility focused on the diagnosis and management of respiratory and pulmonary conditions in adult patients. The clinic provides a collaborative care environment supported by respiratory services and interpretation services, and utilizes EPIC as its electronic health records system. The facility sees approximately 20 patients per day and offers a structured, consistent work environment with no weekend or on-call requirements.
