Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
* Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* 6 weekend shifts per contract
* Self-scheduling
* May float within hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby
* Treats patient age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Common patient diagnoses include heart and lung transplant, CABG, STEMI, NSTEMI, ARDS, heart failure, vascular, esophagectomy, and VATS
* Special procedures include ECMO, LVAD, IABP, and EKOS
* Required skills include arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, titrating cardiac drips, and ventilator management
* ECMO and IABP experience preferred
* Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* CCRN preferred
* Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted at this facility
* Compact or Kentucky state license required

This is a large academic health system facility featuring a dedicated cardiovascular intensive care unit with 44 beds and a daily census of 44 patients. The unit provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy services. The facility specializes in advanced cardiac and pulmonary care, offering specialized procedures such as ECMO, LVAD, IABP, and EKOS for complex patient populations.
