Open Position: Lab Specialist - MLT

MLT - Blood Bank

Job Details:

* Primarily work in blood bank department
* Float within facility and scope of practice as needed
* Every third weekend coverage required
* No call required
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
* Travel experience required
* MLT credentials not accepted
* Acceptable certifications: ASCP, ASCP MT, ASCP-BB, AMT, ABB
* Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
* Charting system experience required
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* If one major holiday falls within assignment period, traveler is expected to work it; if two major holidays fall within assignment period, traveler is expected to work both; if three major holidays fall within assignment period, traveler is expected to work two
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Required skills include: ABO/Rh/Antibody Screen & ID, AHG Crossmatch, Electronic Crossmatch, Blood Banking Procedures, Transfusion Reaction Workup, Thawing/Cooling of Blood Products, Crossmatch-Immediate Spin/IgG, Antigen Typing, Blood Specimen Storage, and additional laboratory procedures
