Open Position: RN - Oncology

Job Details:

* 8-hour day shifts with variable start times
* Float position requiring ability to work at multiple UCSF facilities
* Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
* Outpatient oncology experience required
* Travel experience required
* Teaching hospital experience required
* BSN required
* California RN license required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Treats patients across all age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
* Patient diagnoses include genitourinary cancers, gynecological cancers, head and neck cancers, breast cancer, GI cancers, central nervous system cancers, and osteosarcomas
* Special procedures include HDR brachytherapy and Gamma knife radiosurgery
* Required certifications: AHA BLS
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, APHON, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), CPHON, CPON, NIHSS, OCN, ONS/ONCC, PALS
* Preferred experience: inpatient oncology, pediatric oncology, radiation oncology, charge experience, community hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I and II
* Key skills include accessing and managing ports, monitoring chemotherapy, isolation precautions and PPE, IV push narcotic agents, starting peripheral IVs, venipuncture, wound care, and tracheostomy care
* 2 references from most recent employer required at time of submittal
* Previous charge experience preferred

Facility:

This facility is a major academic medical center and teaching hospital offering a comprehensive oncology program that serves patients across a wide range of cancer diagnoses. The unit supports a daily census of approximately 90 patients with around 130 visits per day and features interdisciplinary support including interpretation services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary services. The facility performs advanced oncology procedures and maintains high standards of specialized patient care across multiple departments and locations.
