RN - L&D

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts with 3-4 weekend shifts on a 28-day schedule
* Self-scheduling available in Women's Services, with schedule balanced by Director and leaders based on experience and skill set
* Department includes 8 LDR rooms, 2 Triage rooms (serving as Pre-Op for C-sections), 2 OR rooms, and 2 PACU beds
* High-risk patient population with high diabetic population
* Staffing ratios follow AWHONN Standards: 1:1 ratio for patients 6cm or greater dilated, patients on Magnesium or insulin drip; 1:2 ratio for all other patients
* RN will follow scheduled C-section patients through entire care until sign off
* External versions and second trimester cerclages performed on day shift only
* Facility does not perform inductions less than 39 weeks
* Charting system: Meditech (PCS for L&D; ORM for Surgical) and OBIX for fetal surveillance
* Workstations on Wheels (WOWs) provided to each RN for charting
* Medication administration via Pyxis; IV Pumps: Solaris
* Scrubs provided for travelers working in L&D
* Minimum 2 years of experience working in an L&D setting required
* Active California RN license required
* Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association), NRP, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification or equivalent

Facility:

This 172-bed Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital is the only trauma center serving Monterey County and many surrounding communities. The facility has been recognized as a top hospital in the Salinas Valley and provides a wide range of specialized services. The Women's Services department is well-equipped with dedicated LDR rooms, triage, surgical suites, and PACU beds to support a high-risk patient population.
