RN - Postpartum
Job Details:
* Postpartum experience preferred
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Weekend shifts required to meet staffing needs
* Average daily census of 15-20 patients
* 20 visits per day with 11 rooms and 15 beds
* Patient ratio experience of 1:3 required
* Float required within scope of practice to meet facility needs; travelers are first to float
* Self-scheduling with up to 7 days of pre-approved time off
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Orientation is 40 hours
* Patient age groups include neonates, infants, and adults
* Care provided for high-risk OB and culturally diverse patient population
* RNs circulate on cesarean sections
* Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* California state license required; compact license must be in hand at submission; pending license not accepted
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP
* Key skills include: Labor & Delivery, couplet care, postpartum hemorrhage, cesarean section circulation, newborn assessment, magnesium sulfate therapy, fetal heart rate monitoring, epidural anesthesia, breastfeeding and lactation support, Pitocin administration, and use of external and internal fetal monitoring
* 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years, completed during compliance process and prior to start
Facility:
This facility is a high-acuity healthcare organization that provides care for high-risk obstetric patients and serves a culturally diverse population. The unit supports a full range of labor, delivery, and postpartum services, with registered nurses actively circulating on cesarean sections. Interdisciplinary support is available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
