Scrub Tech - OR

Job Details:

* Day shift position
* Minimum 2 years of recent open heart experience required
* Must have ability to scrub open hearts in a solo capacity as well as in tandem with a second scrub
* Ability to take call 50% of the time, typically a full week at a time
* Preferred: open to teaching and training RN with ability to scrub CV cases
* Preferred: experience in general OR cases including robotic, ortho, urology, and gynecology
* Assist the surgical team in the preparation of surgical procedures in the operating room
* Prepare surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field
* Retract and pass instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons during cases
* Accurately check required supplies and equipment prior to each case
* Assemble appropriate supplies and equipment prior to operative procedures
* Set up operative instrumentation and sterile field for expedient retrieval and utilization
* Complete instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the Registered Nurse according to established standards
* Label solutions according to established standards
* Required certifications: Certified Surgery Technician (CST) or Tech in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) certification
* Required certifications: CPR or BLS certification from an approved vendor
* Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
* High School Education/GED required; Associate's/Technical Degree preferred
* Current BLS certification required
