Opportunity:

SLP - Outpatient

Job Details:

* Outpatient setting serving both adult and pediatric populations
* Primary focus on providing general Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) evaluations and treatments impacting patient functional abilities
* Provide services across multiple settings including inpatient, outpatient, Home Health, and Long-Term Care by physician referral
* Perform patient assessments, evaluations, therapy diagnoses, and formulate and implement treatment plans
* Review clinical records and case histories
* Attend care conferences, regular meetings and rounds, and maintain contact with referring providers, nurses, and rehabilitation professionals
* Collaborate with team members to arrange appropriate medical equipment and establish care plans prior to discharge
* Document patient encounter findings, treatments, diagnoses, treatment plans, recommendations, and prognoses according to hospital policies
* Direct the work of support staff, students, or interns as needed
* Develop, implement, and conduct patient and family education programs and home exercise programs
* May perform community health services including participation in community clinics, senior centers, home assessments, and health promotion teams
* Video conferencing may be used for training, patient encounters, and administrative duties with off-site locations
* Occasional multi-day travel to remote locations by boat or small plane, potentially in harsh weather conditions
* Assist with administrative matters, clinic operations, billing procedures, and maintaining supply stocks
* Provide therapy consultation, presentations, and in-service education to medical staff and interdisciplinary healthcare personnel
* Position may require repetitive or heavy lifting up to 50 pounds with physically demanding movements
* Must maintain current knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer billing procedures
* Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program required
* CCC-SLP certification required
* Alaska state license required at time of submittal
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
* Pediatric and outpatient experience required
* Flu vaccine required
* Must reside at least 50 miles away from the facility address
