OR RN - 8-12hr Variables

Job Details:

* Permanent placement position with 40 guaranteed hours per week
* 8-12 hour variable shifts with start times ranging from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM, to be discussed with manager
* Weekend call required every 3-4 weeks with rotating holiday schedule
* On-call requirement of 1 week every 3-4 weeks with a 30-minute response time
* Billing schedule Monday through Sunday
* Work within a Surgery Department that encompasses all areas including pre-op, intra-op, post-op, and clinic
* Flexibility across all department areas required as this is a small Critical Access Hospital setting
* Primary cases include GI procedures (colonoscopy/EGD), laparoscopic cholecystectomy, appendectomy, and C-sections
* Additional unit specialties include Ortho, Cataracts, Podiatry, Vascular, Pain Clinic, and OB/GYN
* Typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 for procedures, variable during afternoon clinic
* Must be able to circulate and/or scrub
* EPIC charting experience preferred
* Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty area required; previous Critical Access Hospital experience beneficial
* Required certifications: Iowa RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS
* Associate Degree or Certificate required
* Hospital-provided scrubs
* Strong candidates will be hard-working, resilient, adaptable to change, assertive, confident in their skills, and willing to assist or train less experienced nurses

Facility:

This facility is a small Critical Access Hospital offering a wide range of surgical services across multiple specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, podiatry, vascular, pain management, and OB/GYN. The Surgery Department is comprehensive, covering all phases of perioperative care from pre-op through post-op as well as outpatient clinic services.
