Opportunity:
PCU RN - 5N
Job Details:
* 12-hour shifts available on days (7:00 AM - 7:30 AM) and nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
* Every other weekend requirement including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
* Typically 2-3 holidays required during winter, otherwise every other holiday
* No on-call or standby requirement
* Self-scheduling with manager to balance, schedule opens 6 weeks in advance
* Cannot guarantee same shifts for travel duos
* Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:4-5, Nights 1:5-6 dependent on acuity
* 28-bed unit with a neuro focus treating strokes, seizures, Guillain-Barr?, Myasthenia Gravis, spinal injuries, thrombectomies, TNK/TPA 24 hours post, endovascular procedures, AMS, and dementia
* Also treats trauma/ortho injuries including hematomas, bleeds, falls on blood thinners, and farm/MVA accidents
* Must have drip experience; required to titrate drips including Heparin, Nitro, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, 3% saline, and Insulin
* Tracheostomy and ventilator experience strongly preferred; willing to train on vents but RN must be open to learning
* RT equipment includes vents, trachs, CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, and EtCO2
* Central monitoring located in a different area
* Nurse aides on unit: Days 1:9, Nights 1:12
* Floating required to sister MS units across 6 different specialties including mixed care, cardiac, general, MS ortho, and heme/onc
* Charting system: Cerner
* Any solid color scrubs required
* Orientation consists of 1 shift of general orientation and 1 shift with a preceptor
* Minimum 2 years of MS, PCU, or ICU experience required with experience in setting within the last 1 year
* Open to first-time travelers
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS

The facility supports a collaborative staffing model with charge nurses taking assignments and certified nurse aides available on all shifts.
