RN - ER

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts with rotating start times between 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, 12:00 PM - midnight, and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
* Day and mid-shift availability with shifts starting between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Holiday rotation with core staff to meet unit needs
* No on-call or standby requirement
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5, adjusted based on staffing and acuity
* Provide emergency care in a 24-bed emergency department treating 60-80 patients per 24 hours
* Care for a wide range of patients from neonates to geriatrics including respiratory viruses, trauma, MI, MVA, and moderate sedation cases
* Administer and manage all critical care drips
* Required to read and interpret patient monitors independently
* May be required to transport patients to imaging when needed
* Potential to float to Med-Surg, Telemetry, or ICU based on unit needs
* 3+ years of ER experience required
* Moderate sedation experience required
* Flexibility to rotate between all shift start times required
* Charting system: MEDITECH
* Solid color professional scrubs required
* 2 orientation shifts of 12 hours each
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNS or TNCC, NIHSS
* Illinois nursing license required

Facility:

This community-based acute care facility operates a 24-bed emergency department that is STEMI and stroke ready, with access to a catheterization lab depending on day and hours. The department includes four behavioral health safe rooms and an integrated fast track area, with 24/7 in-house security. The facility is supported by a house supervisor around the clock, a charge nurse on day shift, respiratory therapy, ED technicians, and a patient care liaison team to ensure comprehensive patient support.
