Job Details:

* Must have charge experience
* Full-time position requiring 3 shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays
* Unit includes LDRP 9 beds, OBED 1 bed, NICU 4 beds, and 1 OR suite
* Patient ratios: 1:1 for active labors, inductions, and C-sections; couplet care 1:3; newborns 1:1 until stable; NICU 1:3 intermediate care with minimum 2 NICU nurses required in unit at all times
* No unit secretaries or technicians available on unit
* Must have labor and delivery experience including ability to labor and recover the mother as well as receive and transition the newborn including assessment
* Experience with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and other OB emergencies preferred
* Advanced skills required: fetal monitoring education and experience with inductions (Pitocin, Cervidil)
* Procedures performed on unit include C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, and vacuum or forceps assisted deliveries
* Equipment used: CPN Central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, and PCA pumps
* Documentation systems: Meditech and CPN
* Daily rounding on all patients and SAFETY rounding required
* Floating policy requires staff to float anywhere within the facility as needed if not needed on unit; some staff are cross-trained to float between LDRP and NICU
* Pink and/or brown scrubs required per the infant security policy for the unit
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring training

This facility is a Joint Commission certified hospital with designations as a Stroke Center, Level II Trauma Center, and Level II NICU. The Women's Services unit operates as an LDRP unit, providing a comprehensive care environment for labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care. The unit is staffed by a highly experienced and collaborative nursing team, offering an excellent opportunity to gain broad obstetric and neonatal experience in a supportive environment.
