Job Details:

* Variable start times of 7:00 AM or 9:00 AM
* On-call required - call will be distributed equally amongst all nursing staff every 6 weeks, which could be up to 6-8 shifts in a 6-week period (including nights, evenings, and weekends/8 hrs)
* May need to cover one night shift within the contract as needed
* Float required between sister facilities
* Weekend coverage required
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Daily census of approximately 25 cases
* Patient ratios: Days - 10 RN/6 ST, Nights - 1 RN/1 ST, Weekends - 3 RN/2 ST
* No unit secretary on night shift; night shifts are typically staffed with 2 people (1 RN/1 ST or 2 RNs, one acting as scrub)
* Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
* Patient diagnoses include orthopedics (total joints and ortho trauma), neurosurgery, vascular, robotics, general, GU, and GYN
* Trauma, neuro, vascular, and ortho experience required
* Experience with OR procedures including craniotomy, spinal fusion, total joint replacement, carotid endarterectomy, vascular repairs, and robotic surgery required
* Minimum 2-3 years of experience required
* Travel experience required
* Trauma Level I experience required
* Charting via Epic required
* Required certification: BLS
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 professional references required, covering 1 year within the last 3 years
* All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at time of submission
* 40 orientation hours required

Facility:

This acute care hospital operates with 277 staffed beds and provides a full range of surgical services including trauma, orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular, robotics, general surgery, GU, and GYN procedures. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and offers interdisciplinary support services including respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and interpretation services. Free parking is available for staff.
