Opportunity:
RN - PCU
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Located on the 5th Floor Northwest Tower of the main hospital building
* Patient ratios of 1:4, often 1:5
* Work alongside a team including 1 Charge RN, 5-8 RNs, and 2-3 PCTs on night shift
* Minimum 1 year of current acute care PCU hospital experience required
* Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
* Must be proficient with equipment including telemetry, transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, chest tubes, Foleys, pacer wires/pacers, IV pumps, and SCD pumps
* EMR system: Meditech
* Perform post-cath care for right and left heart caths, TAVRs, ablations, Watchmans, pacemaker implantations, TR band management, and neurovascular checks
* Provide post-thoracic surgery care including VATs/RATs, resections, lobectomies, and chest tube management
* Provide pre and post care for open-heart surgical patients including CABGs, MVRs, AVRs, and aortic dissection repairs
* Administer drips including heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, milrinone, and ketamine
* Preferred skills include chest tube management and removal, pacer wire removal, 12-lead EKGs, and O2 management up to BiPAP and heated high-flow
* Ideal candidate is a great team player who is high energy, flexible, adaptable, and values communication and collaboration

This is a fast-paced, high-acuity cardiac center of excellence featuring a progressive and intermediate care unit. The facility operates a 30-bed cardiovascular unit staffed by 65 team members including RNs and PCTs. The unit specializes in comprehensive cardiac and thoracic care, offering cutting-edge procedures and technology to support a wide range of complex patient needs.
