Opportunity:

**MUST HAVE LEVEL 1 TRAUMA EXP**

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Work 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks (every 3rd weekend)
* Holiday schedule based on unit coverage in permanent staff rotation
* Patient ratio of 1:4
* Must have Level 1 Trauma experience - required
* Med/Surg/Telemetry experience required, psychiatric experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
* Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
* Pass/fail SIMs Lab on day 1 of orientation for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
* Must maintain sterile field during procedures
* 2 shifts of floor-specific orientation provided
* Use Cerner electronic medical record system
* Floating to ED psychiatric holds and possibly to Med/Surg floors
* Must have own vehicle for travel
* Dress code: Navy scrubs and panic buttons required
* Must have natural hair color with no facial piercings
* Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
* Care for patients with medical conditions and secondary psychiatric diagnoses including confused patients, dementia, and low cognitive ability
* Average length of stay is 4 days
* Work with behavior health techs and security video monitoring

Facility:

This acute care hospital operates a specialized 14-bed Visual Monitor Unit (VMU) that combines medical/surgical and telemetry care with behavioral health components. The facility maintains Level 1 Trauma designation and provides comprehensive support services including 24/7 respiratory therapy, pharmacy services, SWAT RN IV team, and on-unit psychiatric physicians. The unit features advanced video monitoring systems for patient safety and utilizes both behavior health technicians and security personnel to ensure optimal patient care in a secure environment.
