Opportunity:

Travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Job Details:

* Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
* Implement individualized treatment plans to improve ADL performance, functional mobility, upper extremity function, cognition, safety awareness, and overall independence
* Accurately document treatments using electronic medical records and Net Health per facility standards
* Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team regarding patient progress and discharge planning
* Educate patients, caregivers, and facility staff on adaptive equipment, home safety, and functional strategies
* Maintain compliance with Medicare, state, and facility documentation standards
* Participate in care conferences and team meetings as appropriate
* Treat a diverse skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation population including orthopedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and medically complex patients
* Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program required
* Current California COTA license or eligibility required
* Current CPR/BLS certification required
* Skilled Nursing Facility experience preferred; motivated new graduates encouraged to apply
* Excellent communication, teamwork skills, and a positive, patient-centered attitude required

This skilled nursing and post-acute rehabilitation facility serves a diverse patient population requiring short-term and long-term care. The facility features a modern therapy gym and supports treatment of a wide variety of diagnoses including orthopedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and medically complex conditions. The interdisciplinary rehabilitation team includes Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, nursing staff, and physicians, all working collaboratively to help residents regain independence and maximize their quality of life.
