Job Details:
* 19-week contract assignment
* Shift options available: Days 7:00 AM-7:00 PM, 9:00 AM-9:00 PM, Mids 10:00 AM-10:00 PM, 11:00 AM-11:00 PM, 12:00 PM-12:00 AM, 1:00 PM-1:00 AM, 2:00 PM-2:00 AM, Evenings 3:00 PM-3:00 AM, Nights 7:00 PM-7:00 AM
* Every other weekend rotation required, with occasional back-to-back weekends possible
* No on-call or floating requirements
* Scrub color: Any, no logos
* Minimum 3 years of experience in a large volume, high acuity emergency department required
* First-time travelers will not be considered
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC
* EMR: Epic experience required
* Patient ratios: 1:3-5 based on acuity; fast track zone available (13 beds, green zone); ER is set up in zones
* Patient population: Neonate to geriatric, including pediatric medical and trauma cases
* Pediatric emergency medicine experience highly preferred
* Skills required include: barcode scanning medication administration, managing medication drips, blood product administration, triage experience (must pass hospital's Triage Test before allowed to triage), ability to set up chest tubes and arterial lines, assist with trauma and code cases, splinting, BiPAP/ventilator management, and strong understanding of ESI
* Experience with Point of Care Labs is a plus
* Care for patients including Level III trauma, stroke (administer TNK), cardiac (cath lab), behavioral health and substance use disorder cases
* Responsible for stabilizing and transferring high acuity patients including neurosurgery, multi-system trauma, and high acuity pediatric patients
Facility:
This 226-bed Level III non-profit community hospital operates a 34-bed emergency department seeing 200-250 patients daily, making it the busiest emergency department in the state. The facility provides comprehensive emergency services organized in a zone-based structure, including fast track capabilities, and supports a wide range of high acuity specialties including trauma, stroke, cardiac, pediatrics, and behavioral health services.
