RN - Family Birth Center (L&D)

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
* Every other weekend requirement with 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule (Saturday/Sunday days; Friday/Saturday nights)
* First to float when census is low
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
* Unit is a Family Birth Center with 19 postpartum beds, 12 L&D beds, 2 ORs, and 1 PACU
* Patient ratios follow California standards: 1:4 on postpartum, 1:1 on labor and delivery
* Charting system: Cerner and Fetal Link for fetal surveillance monitoring
* Phillips system used for fetal heart monitoring - no telemetry
* No ventilator management required
* Laborist (OB physician) in house 24/7
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7
* Pharmacy available 24/7
* No IV team on site
* Floating may include pediatrics (couplets) or NICU feeders and growers if prior NICU experience exists
* Handles both low and high risk deliveries; transfers out patients with known congenital defects requiring immediate surgery
* Unit has a Level III NICU on site
* Floor-specific orientation: 3 shifts if able to circulate, otherwise 2 shifts (circulating not required)
* Scrubs provided by the facility
* Holiday rotation works in conjunction with permanent staff schedule
* BSN not required
* Proctored Dysrhythmia Test required on-site on day one - PASS/FAIL
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Advanced AWHONN/Advanced Fetal Monitoring
* Trauma Level 2 facility
* Acute care setting

The facility provides around-the-clock specialty support including a dedicated Laborist, 24/7 respiratory therapy, and 24/7 pharmacy services. The organization maintains high clinical standards and utilizes advanced technology including Cerner EMR and Fetal Link surveillance systems to support quality patient care.
