RN - Oncology

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Rotate holidays with staff
* Position located on 7th floor Oncology unit with 29 beds
* Patient ratios of 1:5, occasionally 1:6
* Nurse aides available, generally 3 per day
* Charge nurse provided outside of staffing grid unless unusual circumstances
* Telemetry experience required with central monitoring; reading strips not required
* Floating may occur rarely to medical acute unit
* 3-day floor-specific orientation provided
* Scrub color required: Caribbean Blue
* Charting system: MEDITECH
* Common diagnoses include acute oncology symptoms, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, hematology, medical overflow, oncology, and end of life care
* May care for outpatient area patients who come to the floor to finish treatment if outpatient area closes
* Cancellation policy: 12 hours every 2 weeks
* 1 year of experience required with at least 1 prior travel assignment
* Must reside within 75 miles of the facility based on driver's license address
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS preferred
* ONS certification required if administering chemotherapy, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in specialty
