Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

* Work in a 19-bed mixed CVICU/CVRU unit with a 1:2 or 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio depending on acuity, with potential 1:3 ratio for downgraded holdover patients
* Every other weekend requirement
* Float to all ICUs, stepdown units, and other units as needed
* Minimum 2 years of CVICU or CVRU experience required
* BLS and ACLS certifications required
* Critical care training required
* Certification in critical care, cardiac surgery, or recovery room care preferred
* Perform procedures including IABP, IMPELLA, hemodynamic monitoring, frequent patient ambulation, pulling chest tubes, pulling pacer wires, LVAD care, and intubation/extubation
* Work with GE monitors and Cerner EMR
* Must wear navy blue or white scrubs, nursing shoes, hair off shoulder, and no fake nails
* Must arrive to unit ready for work no earlier than 7 minutes prior to or after shift start at 6:45 AM
* Overtime must be approved by CNCs
* High energy, friendly personality with a passion for surgical heart care required

Facility:

This facility is a high-acuity cardiac care center providing heart surgery to approximately 850 patients per year. The unit is staffed with highly trained CVICU/CVRU charge nurses available to assist at any time, along with a dedicated educator to support orientation. The team includes 13 dayshift RNs and 11 nightshift RNs with a nurse's aide on all shifts. The facility supports advanced cardiac devices including ECMO, Impellas, IABPs, and LVADs, with core nurses trained to progress through critical care, heart care, recovery, and all device management throughout their careers.
