Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg/Oncology

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Blood Cancer Unit with 18 beds
* Patient ratios of 3-4:1
* Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse (no patient assignment) and 3-5 RNs
* At least 1 year of current hospital acute care oncology experience required
* BLS certification required
* Chemo and biotherapy certificate preferred
* Administer medications, blood, and electrolyte replacements
* Perform or assist with procedures including lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies with conscious sedation, and thoracentesis
* Work with equipment including telemetry, bladder scanner, Alaris pump, and Alaris PCA
* EMR system: Meditech
* Note: Chemo/biotherapy will not be administered unless certified; exposure to hazardous drugs is expected
* Step-down experience preferred as unit manages acute hematology patients and uses standing orders
* Compassionate personality and adaptability strongly preferred for oncology patient population
