Opportunity:

MA - Certified Medical Assistant

Job Details:

* Work Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
* Perform rooming and intake process, collecting vital signs, height, weight, and data related to patient's reason for visit
* Collect patient and family data including medical and social history
* Review patient's current medication list, allergies, and preferred pharmacy
* Assist providers during treatments, examinations, and procedures
* Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy
* Administer medications under the direction of a provider
* Perform tests including EKGs and eye exams under the direction of a provider
* Review patient records to determine whether patients require routine health screenings
* Ensure exam and procedure rooms contain appropriate supplies, equipment, forms, and educational materials
* Provide patients with after-visit, follow-up, self-care, or procedural instructions and educational materials as directed
* Prepare, clean, stock, and maintain exam and treatment rooms
* Clean and sterilize instruments
* Assist with patient registration, check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling, and scheduling of tests, treatments, and referrals
* Answer clinic telephone and assist in-basket under the direction of a provider or nurse
* Assist in emergency situations as directed by a provider or nurse
* At least one year of full-time experience as a Certified Medical Assistant required
* Medical Assistant certification required from AAMA, AMT, NHA (CCMA), NRCMA, or NCMA
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required
* Completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES strongly preferred
* English proficiency required (reading, writing, and speaking)
