Radiation Therapist

Job Details:

* Shifts will vary within clinic hours of 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
* Temp to perm position
* Administer radiation therapy in accordance with physician's instructions and patient treatment plans
* Enter data into computer and set controls to operate and adjust equipment and regulate dosage
* Assist physicians, radiation oncologists, clinical physicists, and others in preparing physical and technical aspects of radiation treatment plans
* Construct patient immobilization devices as ordered by physicians
* Maintain patient and billing records, reports, and files including radiation dosages, equipment settings, and patient reactions
* Perform routine and complex radiation therapy treatments such as total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, and low and high brachytherapy
* Prepare equipment and room for patient
* Use appropriate protective equipment and procedures to ensure safety of patients, self, and others
* Perform quality assurance procedures per state and federal guidelines
* Provide on-the-job clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists
* Graduation from a Radiation Therapy Technologist program approved by the Council of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) required
* Radiation Therapy certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required
* Elekta experience preferred
* English proficiency required (reading, writing, and speaking)
