Job Details:

* Full-time night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Weekends and holidays rotated as needed
* Weekend night positions: Friday, Saturday, and Sundays OR Saturday, Sundays, and Mondays
* 20-bed unit with 14 floor beds and 6 stepdown beds
* Stepdown ratios 1:3 and floor ratios 1:5-6
* Nurse aide support available with 3 aides per shift
* Charge nurse available 24/7
* Telemetry on unit - RNs are not required to read strips independently; RNs document verification of monitor tech strip readings in Epic
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7; RNs are not required to have ventilator experience
* Titration performed by physician's orders in stepdown setting only
* Common drips include Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Nipride, Ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, and Insulin
* Common diagnoses include Neurosciences, Deep Brain Stimulators, Stroke, Seizures, Surgical/Post-Op Spines, and Neurological Disorders
* Strong overall neuroscience experience required
* Stepdown RN experience is not required
* May float to 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10E as first priority, then to other hospital units as needed
* Scrub color requirement: any combination of white and royal blue
* Charting system: Epic
* BSN not required
* 1 orientation shift on the unit
* Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
* Required certifications: BLS (required); ACLS and NIHSS preferred
* Driver's license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility

This acute care facility includes a dedicated neuroscience unit offering both floor and stepdown level care for patients with complex neurological conditions. The unit is supported by 24/7 charge nurse coverage, respiratory therapy services, and monitor technicians, providing a collaborative and well-resourced environment for nursing staff. The facility utilizes Epic as its electronic health records system and maintains a structured approach to patient care across multiple specialty units.
