RN - Stepdown/MedSurg

Job Details:

* Weekend night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM; schedule is Friday, Saturday, Sunday OR Saturday, Sunday, Monday
* 12-hour shifts with no call or standby requirement
* 29-bed flex unit serving both floor and step-down patients based on patient and hospital needs
* Nurse-to-patient ratios: 3:1 for step-down and 6:1 for floor/med-surg
* Clinical Associates (nurse aides) available with a goal of 3 CAs at all times (1:10 ratio)
* Diverse patient population with primarily medical diagnoses
* Must be able to manage 6 patients (med-surg) or 3 patients (step-down)
* EPIC experience required for charting
* RNs will have orders written to titrate drips including Heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrhythmics, phenobarbital, ketamine, morphine/dilaudid/fentanyl PCAs, and TPN
* RT equipment includes CPAP and BiPAP on floor and step-down; HiFlow and vents in step-down (patients requiring vent setting adjustments are transferred to ICU)
* Remote telemetry surveillance center available; RNs are not required to read their own strips; Philips telemetry monitoring equipment used
* Charge RNs and House Supervisors available 24/7
* First to float or be pulled to other floor/step-down units
* Expected to work approximately half of all recognized holidays
* Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week assignment; 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks
* Scrub color: Any combination of royal blue and white
* Required certification: BLS (AHA)
* BSN not required

This acute care facility features a newly constructed step-down and med-surg unit with 29 beds, all equipped with step-down capabilities. The facility offers a robust support structure with charge RNs and House Supervisors available around the clock, a remote telemetry surveillance center, and central monitoring available on the unit. The organization is committed to providing a well-staffed environment with clinical associates supporting nursing staff and modern Philips telemetry monitoring equipment throughout.
