Opportunity:

Surgical Technologist

Job Details:

* Rotating shift schedule working 4 x 10-hour shifts
* Shift start times at either 6:30 AM or 8:30 AM
* Days of the week are not set
* On-call one night per week and one weekend per month
* Minimum 2 years of recent experience required with orthopedics, total joint, GYN, and general surgery
* EPIC experience required
* BLS certification required
* Surgery Technician certification preferred
* Assist the surgical team in preparation of surgical procedures in the operating room
* Prepare surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field
* Retract and pass instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons during cases
* Assemble appropriate supplies and equipment prior to operative procedures
* Set up operative instrumentation and sterile field for expedient retrieval and utilization
* Complete instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the Registered Nurse according to established standards
* Label solutions and maintain neat and orderly sterile field with careful attention to aseptic technique
* Clean equipment and facilities as necessary and perform housekeeping duties as requested
* Transport patients according to unit schedules and priorities
