Opportunity:
Urgent Care Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
Job Details:
* Schedule: 2x12-hour shifts and 2x8-hour shifts per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday; off Sunday, Monday, Thursday)
* Tuesday: 7:45 AM 8:15 PM
* Wednesday: 9:30 AM 6:00 PM
* Friday: 7:45 AM 8:15 PM
* Saturday: 7:45 AM 4:15 PM
* No on-call requirements
* Same location every shift; no floating between units
* Must be a certified Medical Assistant (MA-C); MA-R, MA-P, and MA-HT credentials are not accepted
* Minimum 6 months of experience working as an MA-C in an adult/pediatric outpatient clinic setting required
* At least 1 year of experience required
* Previous travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
* Must be open and willing to convert to a permanent position at the end of the contract
* Reliable personal transportation required; public transportation is not acceptable
* Every Saturday is a required workday; Sundays off
* Scrub color: TBD
* Epic charting experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, CMA
* Required skills include:
- Vital signs: height/weight, 12-lead EKG/ECG, pulse oximetry, vision testing
- Recording patient history, medications, and allergies
- Nebulizer treatments
- Immunizations and intramuscular injections
- Specimen collection: labeling, throat swabs, urine UA/clean catch
- Laboratory tests: blood glucose via glucometer, pregnancy testing, strep testing, urine dipstick/urinalysis
- Stocking supplies
- Administering medication, ear lavage, and rooming patients
* Serves patients of all age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
