RN - Cardiac/Telemetry

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available on days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) and nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
* Night shift focus with weekends as scheduled
* Every-other weekend requirement (Saturday and Sunday for both days and nights)
* Holiday rotation schedule shared with permanent staff
* 28-bed unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
* Charge nurse available 24/7; day charge nurse does not take patients, night charge nurse does take patients
* Nurse aides on dayshift for up to 10 patients; no aide on nightshift
* Must be able to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips using Philips monitors
* RNs required to titrate drips
* Common patient diagnoses include cardiac patients, CR bands, post-cath, AMI, post-op lung surgeries, respiratory failure, chest tubes, pacemakers, and post-PCI patients (no stepdown patients, no sheath pulls, no art lines)
* Respiratory-focused unit; CPAP and BiPap managed by respiratory therapy
* Floating may be required to any med/surg or telemetry unit
* Scrub color requirement: Royal Blue
* Charting system: EPIC
* Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS
