RN - Charge - Med Surg

Job Details:

* Charge RN position working 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
* Charge nurse ideally does not take patients, but may take a patient assignment if staffing is short or census is less than 22
* Department operates under a dyad model with each nurse supported by their own CNA and a virtual nurse
* Nursing ratio is 1:6/7, CNA ratio is 1:6/7, and virtual nurse ratio is 1:30
* 42-bed Med/Surg unit serving medical, surgical, and orthopedic patients
* 1:6 ratio expected at least once per week
* No titratable drips except Heparin
* Telemetry available on the floor with a centralized telemetry station
* Respiratory therapy available 24 hours on the floor
* Nurse aides and patient care techs available at a 1:6/7 ratio
* Weekend and holiday requirements on an as-needed basis
* No on-call or standby requirements
* Floating may be required to PCU or Burn unit
* Scrub color required: Navy blue
* Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
* Orientation includes first week of classroom training followed by two 12-hour shifts on the floor
* Pass/fail open book exam during orientation requiring a minimum score of 90% to pass
* Charting system: EPIC
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: BLS
* 50-mile radius rule applies
* RTO requests must be submitted upfront (7 or fewer days per 13-week contract)
