Opportunity:

RN - Medsurg 5S

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available for both days (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) and nights (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
* Every-other-weekend requirement covering Saturday and Sunday for both day and night shifts
* Work in the holiday rotation schedule
* Patient ratios are mainly 1:5-6 for both days and nights, with occasional 7 patients toward end of shift depending on patient acuity
* Charting system: EPIC
* Required certification: BLS
* Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips (Phillips monitors used)
* Royal blue scrubs required
* No false nails permitted
* Floor-specific orientation consists of 1-2 shifts with a preceptor
* Charge nurse present on every unit; day charge does not take patients, night charge does take patients
* CNAs available on all units
* IV team available house-wide until 10:00 PM Monday through Friday and until 3:30 PM on weekends
* In-house pharmacy available 24/7 with Accudose system
* Respiratory therapy in-house 24/7; RNs responsible for aerosols for non-vented patients and EKGs
* Common diagnoses include CHF, cardiac cath, chest pain, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, orthopedic, and oncology patients
* Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
* Must submit a copy of unexpired driver's license and reside outside a 50-mile radius
* Trauma Level 2, Acute Care setting
