RN - Labor & Delivery
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour shifts with available shift times of 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Weekend rotation every other weekend, variable based on need
* No mandatory on-call requirements
* Holiday rotation required on a fair and equitable basis
* Schedule made in 6-week increments and released 2 weeks prior to start; block schedule cannot be guaranteed
* Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required; 5+ years preferred
* EPIC experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, Intermediate FHM (AWHONN)
* Care for high acuity patients including hypertension, magnesium administration, C-sections, preterm labor, vaginal deliveries, epidurals, inductions, antepartum, PROM, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage
* Ability to triage OB patients, circulate in OR, perform cervical checks, and read/interpret fetal monitoring strips
* Serve as a second set of hands to receive and recover normal newborns as needed
* Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 active labor, 1:2 non-active laboring, 1:2-3 antepartum dependent on acuity
* Equipment includes EPIC EMR, Alaris CareFusion IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Centricity/Qx fetal surveillance monitors, CAD Solaris epidural pumps, Panda Warmers, and Covidien SCDs
* Scrubs provided by facility and must not be worn outside of the facility
* Free badge access parking available in designated areas
* May float to antepartum (within L&D) and postpartum (4th floor) occasionally, and additional assignments within scope and experience
Facility:
This facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level IV NICU, offering comprehensive obstetric care across 34 Labor & Delivery beds including 15 labor rooms, 12 antepartum beds, 4 OB ED rooms, and 3 operating rooms, along with 18 postpartum beds. The unit supports up to 300 deliveries per month and is staffed with 24/7 laborist coverage, respiratory therapy, anesthesia, residents and fellows, and a robust support team including CNAs, scrub techs, phlebotomy, charge nurses, and break nurses.
