PICU RN

Job Details:

* Work three 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Holiday requirement applies if contract falls during a holiday period
* Up to 5 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights
* No on-call requirement
* Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on patient acuity; mixed unit with ICU and step-down patients
* Float within scope to meet facility needs as required
* Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
* ECMO and CRRT experience preferred
* South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
* Required certifications: BLS and PALS (American Heart Association only)
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Level I Trauma experience preferred
* Care for pediatric patients ages 0?18 with medical and surgical diagnoses including respiratory compromise, trauma, post-operative surgical cases, and neurology/neurosurgery
* Perform and support complex therapies including ventilatory and cardiac support, ECMO/CRRT, renal and peritoneal dialysis
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period (guaranteed hours policy)
* Block scheduling available with manager approval based on unit needs
* Self-scheduling unit

Facility:

This facility is a Level I Trauma Center, teaching facility, and Magnet-designated hospital with 820 total staffed beds. The Pediatric Intensive Care unit is a 28-bed unit providing intensive and intermediate care to children from across the state. The unit offers a comprehensive interdisciplinary support team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams. Charting is completed using the Epic system.
