Phlebotomist

Job Details:

* Perform venipuncture blood draws, heel sticks, and finger pokes in both inpatient and outpatient settings
* Verify patient information and maintain accurate patient demographics for pathology
* Send out all pathology and cytology, bone marrow biopsies, and fine needle aspirates
* Review and print pathology reports and input histology charges as received
* Order tests and prepare them to established standards
* Check lab orders to ensure accuracy, confirm physicians on orders, and make necessary changes
* Perform drug screens and breathalyzers
* Stay updated with changes and new protocols
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* 1+ years of related work experience preferred
* BLS certification required or must be obtained within 3 months of hire
* Valid and current driver's license preferred
* Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required
