Registered Echo Technologist

Job Details:

* Day shift position
* Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures to locate, evaluate, and record pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional data for diagnosis
* Perform stress echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiography, 2-D echo with M-mode, color flow, and cardiac doppler
* Perform cardiovascular diagnostic tests including EKGs, event monitor applications, cardiac monitor applications, pulmonary function tests, lower extremity doppler studies, and stress testing
* Record procedure data in patient charts and EMR system, and immediately inform physicians of life-threatening test results
* Perform cleaning and disinfecting of cardiology equipment and accessories
* Assist with supply inventory, clerical duties, patient transport, and billing log entries
* Supervise and instruct students and precept new employees
* Participate in CQI activities, evaluations, and monthly cardiovascular meetings
* Perform CPR as needed
* Must pass competencies for the position, including rhythm recognition
* Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in Vascular/Echocardiography from an accredited institution required, or on-the-job training with an Associate's degree in Allied Health
* Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), ARDMS registered cardiac sonographer or registry eligible required
* CPR certification required
* One to two years of experience as an echocardiography technician preferred, including 2-D echo with M-mode, spectral and color flow doppler, transesophageal echocardiography, and stress echocardiography
* Must have knowledge of clinical interventions and equipment necessary to meet the specific needs of the patient population served across all age groups
