Open Position: RN - Med Surg Tele

RN MS/Tele (Ortho)

Job Details:

* Work on a 26-bed adult orthopedic spine unit specializing in spinal surgeries including laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies
* Patient ratio of 1:5-6 on days, nights, and weekends
* Every other weekend requirement with 6 weekend shifts per contract
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Care for patients with diagnoses including Med/Surg, Telemetry, cardiac, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, dehydration, chest pain, DVT, and PE
* Perform and assist with special procedures including bedside lumbar puncture, post cath care (radial/femoral), post-surgical care, post renal biopsy, CT Angio, and Heparin drips
* Provide integrated pain management, physical therapy, and mobility support for post-operative patients
* Operate special equipment including telemetry monitors, bedside pulse oximetry, dinamaps, and glucometers
* Float to other units or campuses as needed based on census, limited to areas of qualification and documented competencies
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy
* Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required with orthopedic experience required
* Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
* Must have an active SC or multistate license (pending licenses not accepted)
* First-time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, Dysrhythmia certified
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred

This regional community teaching medical center is designated by the American College of Surgeons as a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, the only one of its kind in the Midlands region. The facility features 641 licensed beds and is home to advanced specialty programs including cardiac care, stroke, and vascular services. The organization provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support services and maintains high standards for patient care across multiple campuses.
