Opportunity:
RN - ICU
Job Details:
* Night shift position with shifts clustered together when possible (not guaranteed)
* Every other weekend rotation required
* 1-2 holidays per season (summer and winter) expected
* Up to 5 days of time-off may be approved (excluding holidays)
* Overtime occasionally available, offered to staff first
* Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
* Travel experience strongly preferred
* Patient ratios of 1:2-3 based on acuity
* Care for Medical ICU patients including DKA, DTs, multisystem failure, ARDS, CIWA/ETOH, sepsis, pneumonia, and COVID
* Care for Surgical ICU patients including open abdomen and thoracotomies
* Neuro patients may include CVA, intracranial hemorrhage, craniotomy/craniectomy, EVDs, and ICP monitoring
* CVICU patients include CABG/TAVR (24-48 hour post-op), fem-pop bypass, and AAA repair
* Travelers are not expected to care for patients requiring CRRT, impella, balloon pumps, or ECMO
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Required skills: cardiac rhythm interpretation, medication titration, proning, hypothermia protocol knowledge, chest tubes, drains, and invasive line monitoring (a-lines, CVP)
* Charting system: EPIC
* Equipment used: BD Alaris IV Pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing system
* Floating may be required to Respiratory Unit, Surgical Floor, Telemetry Floor, PCU, and ED for helping hands, transport, sitting, and task-based duties
* Traveler Telemetry Competency exam required to be completed and passed prior to start
* Scrub color: Any color, must be professional
* Free parking available in designated areas

This 388-bed hospital serves as a Level 3 Trauma Center with an 18-bed mixed ICU featuring both single and double occupancy rooms. The facility provides comprehensive critical care services including Medical, Surgical, Neuro, and CVICU specialties. The unit maintains robust 24/7 support including a Rapid Response Nurse, Hospitalist, Respiratory Therapist, Intensivist, Resource Nurse, and floating Charge Nurse, fostering a strong team-oriented culture that is experienced in integrating travel nurses into the ICU environment.
