Job Details:

* Day/Night rotation with weekends as needed
* 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Self-scheduling available
* First to float to ED/ICU for 1:1 assignments as needed
* Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:4, Nights 1:5
* Position is primarily adults, but candidates must be comfortable with pediatric patients as well
* Common diagnoses include UTI, altered mental status, pneumonia, and COPD
* RNs are not required to titrate drips; common drips include electrolytes, hypertensive medications, and diuretics
* ICU monitors telemetry and reads strips; MSP nurses apply telemetry to patients
* Occasional BiPap present on unit, managed primarily by Respiratory Therapy
* Charge nurse is present on each shift and takes patient assignments
* 2 nurse aides on days, 1 nurse aide on nights
* Charting system: MEDITECH
* Scrub color: Navy blue
* Orientation consists of 1 to 2 twelve-hour shifts (one day and/or one night if needed)
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: BLS, PALS
* Facial hair fit testing required; clinicians with facial hair must pass the Primary or Secondary fit test (3M Aura 1860 sm or reg/3M 1870+); if unable to pass, a Portacount test is required, which cannot be completed on clinicians with facial hair
* No holiday requirement
* RTO must be submitted upfront (7 or fewer days per 13-week contract); additional RTO will not be approved

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a MedSurg Pediatrics unit with 17 beds, including 14 inpatient and 3 observation beds. The unit provides care for both adult and pediatric patients, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, communication, and quality patient outcomes. The facility supports staff with a structured charge nurse presence on every shift and dedicated nurse aide support throughout the day and night.
