Opportunity:

RN - ER/Medsurg/Swing

Job Details:

* Night shift position working 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM with self/team scheduling
* Every other weekend requirement and every third holiday requirement
* Will float between ER, Medsurg, and Swing Bed units
* Must have a minimum of 1 year of ER experience
* Charge nurse experience required
* Critical Access experience strongly preferred
* ER nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4; Medsurg Days 1:5 and Nights 1:6
* Common ER diagnoses include traumas, strokes, STEMIs, chest pains, respiratory conditions, and lacerations
* Medsurg patients range from pediatrics to geriatrics including pneumonia, UTIs, observation, and swing bed patients
* Common drips include Heparin and Levophed
* RNs are required to read and interpret their own telemetry/monitor strips
* Charge nurse is present on each shift and takes an assignment
* Nurse aides/EMTs available on Medsurg at a 1:8 ratio; no aides in ER
* One 12-hour shift of unit/department specific orientation provided
* Successful candidates demonstrate teamwork, communication, flexibility, ability to work under pressure, and adaptability
* Charting system: MEDITECH
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
* BSN not required
* Acute care setting

Facility:

This is a Critical Access facility operating as a Trauma Level STEMI Receiving Stroke Center. The emergency department features 2 beds/trauma bays and the Medsurg unit has 10 beds. The facility provides a broad range of acute care services, treating patients across all age groups from pediatrics to geriatrics, and managing a diverse mix of emergency and medical-surgical cases in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
