Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg ICU

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts with day shift hours from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM and night shift hours from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
* Schedule is manager-directed based on unit needs
* Every other weekend requirement
* 2 out of 3 major holidays or every other holiday as needed based on unit needs
* Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1-2 in ICU, 1:4-5 in PCU, and 1:5-6 in Med Surg
* 2 minimum years of recent ICU experience required
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Charting system: EPIC
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* 2 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation provided
* Pass/fail open book exam during orientation - must receive a 90% or higher to pass
* Care for adult and pediatric patients (15 years and older) with diagnoses including respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, renal failure, GI bleeds, and cancer-specific surgeries
* Titrate drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics
* Work with equipment including CVPs, A-lines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring, Zoll Thermoguard, and Bell Mont rapid transfuser
* Operate respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilators
* Read and interpret heart monitoring using Draeger system with centralized telemetry monitoring - no monitor techs on unit
* Float to all inpatient units excluding Maternity/NICU
* Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
* Candidate must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility - valid driver's license required at submittal
* Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
* Request time off must be submitted upfront (7 or fewer days per 13-week contract) - additional RTO will not be approved
