Opportunity:

RN - MS-Tele Float

Job Details:

* Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* 6-9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
* May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
* Rare on-call or standby requirement for low census situations
* Float position within Zone 3 (based around Denver City Center) covering a 60-mile radius, including OrthoColorado Hospital, Longmont United Hospital, St. Anthony Hospital, and St. Anthony North Hospital
* Traveler is responsible for obtaining housing within 60 miles of each facility in the zone
* Schedules released 4-6 weeks in advance - either assigned to a single facility for the week or assigned via Just-In-Time (JIT) call 1-2 hours before shift start
* Float throughout multiple units including General MS-Tele, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation
* May be asked to float into other acuity levels including ICU (low acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 based on acuity
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses including Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology post-surgical, General Surgery, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, and General Medicine
* Required to titrate Heparin drips
* Works with respiratory therapy equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP
* Nurse aides available on unit
* Designated charge nurse on each unit who typically does not take a patient assignment
* Charting system: EPIC
* Minimum 2 years of MS-Tele experience required; prior neuro experience preferred
* All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting assignment
* Cannot miss more than 3 shifts in a 13-week contract
* 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation with a preceptor
* Scrub color/dress code: Any color
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
* BSN not required

This float pool position spans multiple acute care facilities across a 60-mile radius in the Denver metro area, offering a dynamic work environment across a range of specialties. The facilities are equipped with modern technology including EPIC charting systems and support a wide variety of patient populations across medical-surgical, telemetry, and specialty units. Each facility maintains dedicated charge nurses and nurse aide support to ensure high-quality patient care.
