Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
* Weekend on-call rotation required: one weekend 24 hours on-call 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM per month
* Weeknight on-call requirement: one weeknight on-call 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with rotation varying
* Holiday call rotation as needed
* 30-minute call response time required; if more than 30 minutes away and on-call, provider may be required to stay
* Float to outpatient surgery as needed
* Charge nurse rotation included
* No self-scheduling for travelers; block scheduling available if it meets unit needs
* 3-shift, 1-week unit orientation provided
* Scrubs provided for RNs and OR Techs
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA); PALS preferred
* Minimum 2-3 years of experience in OR specialty required along with 2-3 previous travel assignments
* Ortho experience required
* Must have experience passing arms in and out for Robotics (Da Vinci and Rosa)
* Must have EPIC EMR experience
* Must have experience with all surgical specialties for evening/night shift
* Night shift RN will be the only RN on floor with 2 techs; must be comfortable working independently
* Common cases include general surgery, ENT, eyes, ortho, robotics, neuro spine, vascular, trauma, and pediatric dental and ENT
* Facility covers all surgical cases except CVOR and L&D C-sections
* OR techs are responsible for turning over rooms
* Scrubbing experience is a plus but not required for RNs
* Charting system: EPIC

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a large, active operating room department with 9 ORs, 1 procedure room, and 1 hybrid room running 24/7. The department handles 35-45 cases per day across a wide range of surgical specialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular, trauma, robotics, and pediatric procedures. The OR team is primarily composed of travel staff, and the department utilizes the EPIC electronic medical records system.
