RN - ED

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* 2 shifts per week with no blocked scheduling
* Weekend requirement of 3 shifts per month
* Holiday requirement every other holiday
* Patient ratio of 1:6
* 48-bed emergency department unit
* Float only between ED care areas
* 2 clinical orientation shifts required
* Charge nurse responsibilities not required
* Work with ED Techs as nurse aides
* Telemetry and ventilator experience required
* Treat patients with common diagnoses including chest pain, abdominal pain, stroke, STEMI, trauma, psychiatric conditions, and sepsis
* Level 2 Trauma Center with 24-hour Cath Lab access
* Designated Stroke Center with all EM Board Certified Physicians
* Teaching hospital with Emergency Medicine residency training program
* Charting system: EPIC
* Scrub color: Ceil blue top with black or ceil blue bottoms; blue scrub jackets required (no hoodies or sweaters)
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, CPI (PALS preferred)
* New York nursing license required
* BSN not required

Facility:

This acute care emergency department is a Level 2 Trauma Center and designated Stroke Center equipped with a 24-hour Cath Lab. The facility operates as a teaching hospital with an Emergency Medicine residency training program staffed entirely by board-certified emergency medicine physicians. Comprehensive support services are available including 24/7 pharmacy, hospitalist and intensivist in-house coverage, and EPIC as the electronic medical records system.
