Opportunity:

RN - Cath Lab and IR

Job Details:

* Work 10-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
* 36-hour guaranteed hours per week with flexibility for shift adjustments
* Evening call required 1-2 times per week, beginning after normal day shift ends (approximately 5:00 PM)
* Weekend call required 1-2 weekends per month with 24-hour call from 6:30 AM to 6:30 AM
* Holiday call requirement includes 1 major and 1 minor holiday
* Call response time of 30 minutes required
* Mixed lab environment requiring experience in both Cath Lab and IR procedures
* Perform and assist with Left and Right heart catheterizations (interventional and diagnostic), EP studies, pacers, and defibrillators
* Perform and assist with IR procedures including PICC line placement, central lines, Swans, pleurovacs, and stroke intervention
* Responsible for procedure setup, circulating procedures, administering sedation, and monitoring patients throughout procedures
* Responsible for hemodynamic monitoring located in the control room outside the main procedure room
* Lab functions with a 3-person team requiring RN to provide procedural sedation and hemodynamic monitoring
* Must be comfortable floating between procedure room and control room (control room includes a window for patient visibility)
* Utilize Cerner EMR and charting system
* No floating requirements
* Scrubs provided
* Up to 2 weeks of orientation with another RN; will not be added to call rotation until the 3rd week
* Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab and IR experience required
* Prior travel experience preferred
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS

This acute care facility operates a mixed Cath Lab and IR department with 3 suites averaging 8-10 cases per day. The department is supported by 24-hour on-call cardiologists, dedicated Cath Lab and IR technicians, a Cath Lab Manager, and a Charge Nurse. The facility provides a collaborative team environment and is equipped with modern technology to support a wide range of interventional and diagnostic cardiovascular and radiology procedures.
