Job Details:

* Full-time 1.0 FTE position with a combination of 12-hour and 8-hour shifts
* Day shifts: 12-hour shifts run 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM; 8-hour shifts run 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
* Afternoon shifts: 12-hour shifts run 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM or 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM; 8-hour shifts may start at 9:00 AM, 10:30 AM, or 2:30 PM
* Schedule consists of two 12-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts per week
* Weekend shifts required with at least 1-2 travelers scheduled on weekends; weekend shifts are 12-hour blocks from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM
* Travelers are expected to take 20-30 hours of standby call in a 4-week period with a 30-minute call response time
* Holiday call is open for discussion
* Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract
* Must be able to circulate independently
* Scrubbing is not required for RNs
* Floating may occur between two OR areas depending on experience
* Orientation provided covering both OR areas, totaling 2-3 shifts including EPIC orientation
* Charting system: EPIC OP-Time
* Common equipment includes Bovie machines, forced air warmers, Neptune suction, drill consoles, Xi Robotics, Ligasure, and Argon Beam
* Scrubs are provided
* Required certification: BLS
* BSN not required
* Active license required; willing to wait for licensure

Facility:

This is a large academic medical center operating as a Level I Trauma Center with 33 total operating room suites across two separate areas. The facility handles an average of 80 to 120 cases per day across a comprehensive range of service lines including orthopedics, neurosciences, robotics-assisted surgery, bariatrics, ENT, and ophthalmology. The OR department is staffed with a charge nurse 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and utilizes both RNs and OR technicians to support its high-volume surgical programs.
