Opportunity:
RN - Telemetry / Progressive Care (Step-Down)
Job Details:
* 13 to 26 week contract options available
* Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week
* Block scheduling type
* Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change based on need
* Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Step-down unit from ICU - no ventilators or pressor support
* Patient diagnoses include higher oxygen demands, dialysis patients, atrial fibrillation, and post heart catheterization
* Drips managed include heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotalol initiation
* Telemetry monitoring required
* Floating to other med-surg units may be required based on census needs
* Staff will only float to units for which competencies have been demonstrated and documented
* Required skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of arterial blood gases, management of dysrhythmias, pre/post cardiac cath care, pre/post hemodialysis management, titration of cardiac drips, and wound care
* Special equipment includes peritoneal dialysis
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Adults only patient population
* 28-bed unit with a daily census of 28
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Tennessee license required
* Pre-assignment testing and modules required to be completed within 48 hours of receiving login information
* 24 orientation hours provided
* One pre-approved time off request permitted per contract
