Opportunity:

Med Surg Neuro Nights

Job Details:

* Night shift position on a 32-bed Med Surg Neuro unit
* 36 or 48 hour per week schedule options available; any hours over 48 are considered overtime
* Self-scheduling
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 on days, nights, and weekends
* 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week period
* Float required to like units; no on-call required
* 1 year of recent Med Surg or Neuro nursing experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS (pending okay); CPI preferred
* Epic charting system used
* Patients served include adults and geriatrics
* Rapid response team activation experience required
* Skills required include: blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy management, CVA care, feeding tube care and management, heparin, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), insulin, isolation precautions/PPE, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, PCA, peripheral line care and management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure management, starting and maintaining IVs, surgical drains, and wound care/wound vac
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary

This facility is a well-established medical center offering comprehensive inpatient care services across multiple specialty units. The Med Surg Neuro unit operates with 32 beds and maintains consistent staffing ratios to support quality patient outcomes. The facility provides robust interdisciplinary support and utilizes Epic as its primary charting system, ensuring a collaborative and technology-driven care environment.
